41L40 Cold Drawn Steel Bar

41L40 steel bar is a Chromium-Molybdenum steel with a lead addition that is widely used due to its ability to maintain its physical properties, even after extended exposure to high working temperatures. It has high hardenability, high wear resistance, and excellent toughness. The addition of lead in this grade improves machinability. 41L40 Cold Drawn Steel Bar Applications

Typical applications for this grade of steel include high temperature bolts, hydraulic machinery shafts, tractor & trailer axles, spindles and more. Grade 41L40 steel is ideal for forging. This grade is not recommended for applications exceeding 400 degrees Fahrenheit, since elevated temperatures will decrease ductility.
